Our Mission

Get Your Play On(Line) seeks to create fun, therapeutic activities, and live events, for children and their parents. Created and run by child life students, we strive to grow our organization and provide developmentally appropriate play for all kids.

They have enjoyed working with children in a variety of settings, including as an educator and now as a child life intern in the hospital setting. Ryan Gerdts, MS, CCLS

Content Manager

Ryan is a certified child life specialist from Southern California, but she currently lives in North Carolina with her husband and two young sons. She first engaged with Get Your Play On(line) as a parent looking for new play ideas for her oldest son during the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, and is now honored and excited to be a part of the team! If Ryan could have any super power, it would be to be able to fly because of the spectacular views and ability to avoid traffic!

Virtual Office Manager

Sarah-Rose is a child life student from Maryland. She recently completed her child life internship where she piloted a virtual internship rotation utilizing teleconferencing via an iPad to provide child life services to patients and families. If Sarah-Rose were to be a type of cereal, she would be Trix because she’s very vibrant in not just the way she dresses, but the way she acts.

Our platform is completely volunteer-based. Our volunteers come from all over the United States and Canada.
