This activity can be used to teach children on how to reuse items you may already have!

Supplies:
Blue construction paper
Egg carton
Glue
Googly eyes
Scissors
Pipe cleaners
Paint
Paint brush
Black sharpie
Let’s Get Started:
Step 1
First, use scissors to cut one section out of the egg carton (Ask an adult if you need help!) Then, cut off excess material from the bottom of the egg carton piece so that the whale will lay flat.
Step 2
Next, paint the egg carton piece with your paint (Paint multiple layers if needed!) and let the paint dry completely.
Step 3
Next, draw out a whale tail and two fins on the construction paper and cut out the shapes. Set them aside for later.
Step 4
Next, cut two 4-inch strips out of the blue pipe cleaner. Then shape the two pieces into two V’s and twist them together.
Step 5
Next, fold the flat edge of the whale tail and glue the folded edge inside the blue egg carton piece so that it is hidden.
Step 6
Next, glue two fins on each side of the egg carton piece and let the glue dry.
Step 7
Next, use scissors to carefully poke a hole in the center of the egg carton piece. Then, insert the twisted end of the pipe cleaners in the hole and bend pipe cleaners so it looks like water spraying out of the whale!

Step 8
Next, use a sharpie to draw a smiley face on the bottom of the egg carton piece.
Step 9
Lastly, glue two googly eyes above the smiley face and you're all done! :)
